Majahual - Costa Maya
Majahual before Hurricane Dean
After our fabulous, exhilarating
boat ride, we returned to this
all in  one most natural eating
place. Across from our table
was the bar pictured above.
Corona's were only $2.00/bottle
- I had two. After we ate our
guide knocked coconuts off the
tree.
We visited Majahual only days before it was
destroyed by Hurricane Dean. What a sad
loss.

We had never heard of Majahual so it was
not only an exciting excursion but an
accidental one for my youngest daughter
and I.

Since this cruise was in celebration of our
35th wedding anniversary my husband took
care of all the details, inviting the kids,
purchasing the excursions, and making it
one of the best vacations we ever had.
However when we arrived in Costa Maya we
quickly learned that he had scheduled
everyone
but my youngest daughter to go
on an excursion of speed boats and
snorkeling. She was scheduled to go on the
extreme speed boats.  As a mother
everyone knows that wasn't going to
happen. I have to really commend Carnival
for their quick intervention to work this
problem out. There wasn't enough room to
switch her into our group but there was one
slot left for me to go with her!

Extreme speed boating doesn't even begin
to describe this excursion. I let her drive
while I took pictures with my new water
proof camera. I should rephrase that, while
I attempted to take pictures when I wasn't
holding on for dear life!

I swear we must have left the water a
hundred times at least, the boat had to be
45 degrees on the side as many times as
leaving the water and the art of not hitting
another extreme boater while weaving in
and out left me hoarse from screaming. All
the while my daughter was having a grand
time.

The rest of the clan and their friends were
disappointed that they did not go on our
excursion.
You can either camp
on the beach or stay
at the Majahual Hotel
for only $35.00/night!

I imagine with the
re-building that this
may change.
There were so many beautiful sights in just this one place that we couldn't stop taking pictures. At
Firecrackinmama's we hate to see pictures get lost in computer files or albums; therefore
I have turned our pictures into greeting cards, ornaments (like the picture above), prints, postcards (that
seem to be people's favorites), magnets and stickers.
There was so much interest in Mama's tropical pictures that we opened
Firecrackinmama's Tropics.

Then I found a really cool site where I could make coasters and cutting boards with my photos. Naturally I
tend to lean towards the tropics but I do love designing holiday gifts, wedding gifts and just everyday gifts.
If you're interested in coasters and cutting boards come have a look at
Firecrackinmama's PrintFection.

Within the next few weeks Firecrackinmama's will be focusing on her
Firecrackinmama's Card Shop opening
an entire section of greeting cards with tropical images. So stop on by!

This was a popular Christmas card that
